1982 Kawasaki KZ-1100-B was created by ccolumbuskz1100
Hello everyone! i'm new to the forum, so any advice at all would be appreciated.  I initially joined because I spent two weeks trying to figure out why my 1982  KZ-1100 wouldn't start.  The spark plugs looked brand new and they were sparking when grounded to the engine block.  However, a friend of mine who is a mechanic said that sometimes, just because they spark when they are out of engine does not mean they will when installed.  This confused me, but 14 dollars later and 4 new spark plugs it's running. It was a good lesson to learn, i could have avoided wasting all that time. But I suppose it wasn't a waste, I got to see everything on the bike, and I'm newish to working on motorcycles so it was a good learning experience. I also had planned on selling it, but i really don't want to anymore.  Its just in such good shape.  And they're so fast.  Any advice on a sell price if I was to go that route? or if I keep it, what kinda of work could I do on it.  Thanks!

I have no idea what it may be worth in the current market.

In terms of what you can do with it, you are only limited by imagination and money.

You could finish the routine maintenance, make sure it has good tires and brakes, and be happy riding a classic bike.

You could do a driver quality restoration that would make it look almost new.
You could do a full on concourse restoration and put it on a rotating pedestal in your living room.
You could do a resto-mod that includes modern suspension and brakes, some power enhancements and custom paint. If you want to see some spectacular examples of this, search the web for bikes built by Sanctuary in Japan. They are stunning, and you might be able to build one for $20-30,000.

You could build a drag bike or a road racing bike if you want to stay off the streets.

You could also get out the saws and girders and build a trike, bobber, brat, chopper or dirt bike. Be prepared for some folks here to throw rocks at you if you do.
