Because the lack of room on the main housing, the oil filler location had to be relocated

It's not ideal but sometimes there's no choice

I would say minimal

The effort doesn't weigh the advantage

Because of covid, have some extra time on my hands , can't throw in the towel now LoL

When I lightened up my crank 2 lbs ,it made a big difference how fast it would spool up ,
The clutch works the same way,it's smaller diameter than stock, weight is 2 lbs lighter and not being weighed down by more oil weight and drag.

Hi richard, top shelf work you are doing there mate.
I was wondering if you have a record of the process when you lightened your crankshaft, I'm sure many here would be interested in that aspect of your build.

I might have a picture of the crank on my old lap top
Will look this evening

I read so much on the subject that it was dizzying , heavy good , heavy bad ,decided to look at typical modern performance motorcycle crank for inspiration R6, Busa,zx10R

If it's a fail I simply put a spare stock one back in ,
Needs to be properly balanced in the end

It was a successful, very snappy and responsive
I seriously broke 2 kz1000 J tach needle
In 2 weeks and my spare Autometer tach

Needles kept falling off after 1 session
Even though they were soft rubber mounted

I don't have a proper explanation
This KZ revs far from a TZ LOL

With gains come losses
Because the lack of a tack and rev limiter
At one of the races,my rider had an engine failure,he said the engine was happy and pulling high RPMs
Problem is what is high RPMs?

I suspect close if not above 12 000
Pics show the damage

Bucket went through the head and broke 3 shims
It's rare to break those tiny shims let alone 3

It's all back together with a new head
And running great,....rev limiter now set at 10 500 to avoid that mess again

So the lesson is that revving an engine far above the manufacturer's redline limit can cause serious engine problems. Gee, who would have ever expected that? :laugh: Ed

Pleased with the turn out and how it performs , it was outsourced for proper balancing

Absolutely amazing work, that´s art!
I have thought about a rev limiter for my build to, just to get rid of the gauge.
I´m new for that typ of things, but that thing you have looks easy to use?

Very easy to use
If I remember correctly 3 wires
Easy install,
A good back up when eyes are focused

Had to convert from 4 pot calipers
To 2 due to racing rules
Was able to source some brembo p108s
