While I was taking stuff off I made my soda blaster and cleaned my master cylinder up and my calipers. I then painted the calipers. I don't think the rattle can I used will hold up too long. I was more or less trying to see what the color would look like on the bike.

The master cylinder came out cool. I went over it with steel wool and soap. I don't know why I used soap Plummen recommened it. So feel free to chime in Plummen :) It has a works racing look to it.

Great job on the project so far.B)
U may want to take a minuet and see what u will need to make the sprockets lined up before u finalize the shock mount and such. U will have chain to tire and frame issues to overcome, if that tire is as big as it looks. What size is it/ 180?
U will need an offset front sprocket and u may need to clearance the frame.
U could cut the frame at the cross member under the swing-arm and spread the frame. Or heat the inner frame rails and squeeze them flat on the inside with a C lamp.
U may have to turn down the sprocket hub to get the chain closer to the tire as well.
Just have a look and see where u are heading before u button her all up. U should be able to run a 520 chain if u can find a front sprocket? What size chain does it run now?
Good luck.

You bring up some valid points Mark. I will be using a 530 chain. From what I can tell with the swingarm mounted the chain slider has plenty of clearance from side to side. I want to use a 1/2 inch offset sprocket from American classix then fine tune the alignment by turning down the hub. I don't think you need to clearance the frame any. Guys are running 180 rears on these things with the stock swinger. I just hope a 1/2 inch is enough. The tire that is on that rim is actually a 190 but I do have a 180 that will probably go on it. For extra tire to chain clearance. Thanks for the compliments and comments. I enjoy reading what people think of my project. I may post some more pics tonite. I cut the subframe off

I cut the subframe off so I can build a new one. Cause with the new tank the subframe wasn't high enough on the frame. As can be seen in the other pics.

Now heres a couple of pics of my modified starter cover. I wanted to give it some cool retro racer look. The grill is painted the same color as the calipers. I really wanted some course brass mesh. But I was unable to find any locally. If anyone has any ideas let me know.

I dont know how wide the 750 frame is but these issues i have mentioned are all vallid with a kz1000 frame.
1/2 offset should clear the frame on a kz, but 5/8" will not. is the rim a 6" or 5.5"? what year and model?
I had to go 170 tire to gain clearance on mine. unless i was to offset the rim.

I like the starter cover. the mesh u are useing looks good to me.

Thanks Mark the mesh is growing on me. I might try to find a different paint. But otherwise i like it. The swingarm and rim I'm using are 2005 gsxr. its 5.5 rim now the frame is 85 so its quite different from earlier 750's I have an 82 and its 1/2 inch narrower. I dont think I'll have any clearance issues up or down like you did with yours. If I need to I will probably squeeze the frame to gain clearance. this is gonna be ridden before I Powdercoat anything. Then I will stand back every nite and drink a few of my favorite beverages and stare at it till I get it right. Then I can paint and powdercoat. keep the comments coming. I've got like 1100 views on this thread and like ten comments left. Is it cause I'm not old. I mean if OMR was building this thing ther would be a bazillion comments. Love your work OMR got to get work now.
