Now that's harsh and unjust. I think whichever mod did that is closed-minded.
I didn't get a family of my own and think I knew how to order the whole world and society, or become a cop or forum mod.
I think someone needs some time out to reflect and it isn't the OP.

Enforced time out just for expressing irritation? For an established member, too.

"Mr. Closed-Minded" here, expressing irritation is fine. Spewing insults is not. I don't care how many posts you've contributed.Enforced time out just for expressing irritation? For an established member, too.

Looks like that person was having a bad day, got a bit abusive and then vented in a passive-aggressive way by making this thread here.
All goes to show how some things just seem really important to us at a certain age.

There are rules ??
OK, I found the rules ...
KEEP IT CLEAN
You may not post libelous or defamatory messages or materials, or include links to such materials in your postings. You may not post messages that are obscene, violent, abusive or designed to harass or intimidate another individual. Pornography, Warez, or any other illegal transactions may not be posted or included in members profiles. No blatant nudity.
BE CIVILIZED
Don't use racial, ethnic, or gender slurs, religiously derogatory comments or any other personal discriminations even in jest. Use of slurs needlessly offends people - whether or not they're a member of the group you've insulted. Respect others' religious beliefs and culture. Recognize that others have religious and personal beliefs which may differ from yours. Stay away from political debates. Keep the language and behaviour appropriate.
PLEASE DON'T SHOUT!
That cap lock key wasn't invented to help you get your message across. Messages written in all caps are annoying, hard to read, and loud.
FLAME-WARS
Don't even start them, they will be ended, quickly, and you'll find yourself on the short bus. Flaming: Personal attacks in cyberspace can be particularly vicious. Flaming is the rather nasty art of attacking others on a personal level.

I'm not trying to be argumentative, but this is from the bottom of the 'Recent Posts' page:

With the advent of the internet came the Keyboard Kommando, emboldened behind anonymity.
We heard the opinion expressed by a TV character that "the words 'social' and 'media' should never be used next to each other." One need look no further than fak€buuk** or r€ddditt** to see some of the most damning evidence of that. Although I'm not a particular fan of the site, an educational and disturbing read can be found at the link below:
www.theatlantic.com/technology/archive/2...sday-machine/617384/
I guess in the broadest sense, forums such as KZR can also be considered "social media". The difference is focus. The afore-mentioned 'social media**' platforms strikes me as 'stream-of-consciousness' offerings that make it difficult to track important subject posts in a way that retains context, resulting in lack of focus. Forums such as ours is all about context and, as a result, maintain structural focus. And that brings us to the drama in the other thread.
In context, a response to a vague post in the other thread was an honest one in the context of this forum. The insult directed at the responder by the OP in that thread is inexplicable IMO and is likely due to the perceived safety anonymity. Think one of the WWW's earliest meme's that was a drawing of a seated dog at a keyboard and monitor that read "On the internet, nobody knows you're a dog".
KZR is one of the most civil forums I've seen in 30+ yrs. of WWW exposure. The Admin's and Mods can take much of the credit. Too, the membership must be inherently civil, because drama here is rare. Technical disagreements abound but, are almost always respectful and hashed out with logic and facts.
I get wordy. I know that. A screen & keyboard is no substitute for voice inflection & body language. I always strive for neutrality and precise clarity, and my word count rises as a result. I sometimes fail, especially in clarity. It is always my only wish to help other's understanding of a subject, if I believe I can, when I post a response. I want that response to be correct without straying into 'correctness', if that makes sense.
Now, to lighten things up a bit. hardrock miner wrote:

On the internet, nobody knows I had paisley inserts in the ankle seams of my bell bottom jeans .

** Obfuscated intentionally because at least one of said platform utilizes spider bots that continually crawl the WWW looking for any mention, in order to report back to the mother ship to record & index for whatever purpose. Obfuscated out of respect, because some Admin's don't like that.

I see what you mean. This guy was banned, created new accounts, banned again and again. In one profile he used a pic he found online as his. He used different IP addresses but would tip his hand and get caught. Members alerted us to him so he was removed. I don't remember how many times he's done this but we're still watching for him. He might be lurking among us now.

This is why I signed off of Facebook 6 months ago!!!!
And by the way! I gave "ghostdive" a free set of rear shocks for the $10 shipping cost last year!
Plus someone complained about my black painted parts 2 months ago! Cause I like black paint! ???
I'd be outa here too!!! But I made a handful of good friendships over the years!
There! Just my 2 cents!
My rant is over.
