Kofla,
I think because of their weight, mine is about 88 lbs, they are harder to pedal without battery assist or if the battery is dead. I haven't drained the battery yet, but I did have it cut out while climbing a very steep switch back dirt road leading to a look out tower at the top. I still had over 90% battery but couldn't use it until the battery cooled down. A built in safety feature I believe. Pedalling it up the rest of the way with no assist wasn't going to happen.

When I was working as a bicycle mechanic Ebikes were just coming out. That store refused to work on them because they were heavy and you could not clamp them into a conventional bicycle repair stand.

Another bicyclist here.  Here are pics of the ones currently in the stable.  I ride/train three times a week.  The Trek is my primary, go-to bike.  The Bianchi with it's full fenders is my foul weather bike.  And the Felt was used at our local velodrome, Valley Preferred Cycling Center (aka T-town).  Haven't been on the track in a few years but the Felt is still used on the rollers for warmup and indoor training.

I like to ride my bike on our local Rails to Trails paved paths.
My ride is a Specialized Roll
A nice laid back riding position  as I would need a ride to the hospital trying to ride  your  bikes.
No longer cut out for aggressive riding positions.
Just feels good to get out and get some exercise

Yeah, Dave, in my book it doesn't matter what you ride or where you ride.  The most important thing is that you're out turning over the pedals.  At this stage of the game, we gotta keep moving, right!!??

I ride a few times a week as well, mostly road now but I did do 24 hour weekend mountain bike races for about 10 years.

I raced this tandem as the stoker in a few 60KM gravel/trail races for a couple of seasons.

Very cool!  That Giant fixie looks like it would be a "lively" ride.  And being a stoker on a tandem is bound to get the adrenaline flowing - especially on gravel!  Thanks for sharing.

I ride a couple of fixie road bikes, that is a converted track bike but it did have a boss for a front brake. When I worked at the bike store I rode a old fixie mountain bike every day rain or shine (snow)

I converted that tandem to run disk brakes, it had cantilevers when I bought it. Its a 1990 Gemini and I bought it off the original owner, him and his wife never got drivers licenses so this was their only two up transport. With two strong riders we were able to hit 60 KPH on a level road with 2.1" knobbies :)

Many years ago when I was a lot younger, some people told me I looked like Gregory Hines the famous actor and tap dancer.
