Opinions wanted on seat/tail
18 May 2018 14:23 - 18 May 2018 14:25
So I got a great deal on this seat that was supposedly from some large KZ framed race bike. I'm curious what your thoughts are on it vs my normal setup of a Corbin Gunfighter and stock tail. I'm still undecided.
Here's how the bike normally looks:
Here's the bike with the race seat:
And finally, a microsoft paintjob to give a better idea of what it would look like if I used it.
The snaps would be blacked out and the tail painted Audi Moro Blue to match the tank.
Sidecovers would also be placed back on.
I'm still undecided on this, whether or not I like it so please give me honest feedback on what you think.

Hands down the "normal" look. I hate bikes with what looks like a hacked off seat/tail. Most real cafe bike from the old days, which is the baseline for the entire cafe "look", have a proper proper fender under a solo seat.

I hate the term "cafe racer"
I much prefer "70s street racer"
I'm more or less leaning towards the original look

So I put the stock tail back on.
I do also have this fiberglass fender eliminator as well.
I don't plan on using it, but it's a neat piece I've never seen before. The license plate holes are drilled narrower than the normal motorcycle plate holes, so I'm not sure where it's originally from.
When I picked it up I sent it over to Tannermatic to have molds made of it, so if anyone wants one, shoot him an email.

That corbin seat looks atrocious. Its like a slim lady with massive hips. It overpowers the bike and is utterly tasteless. The hacked off cafe racer look is gross gross gross. The only way that bike will look good, in my opinion, is like this:

Thanks for the feedback.
I've never been 100% in love with the Corbin due to the proportions as you pointed out, but it's really comfortable so there's that.
I will say that you're the first person who has totally hated it though lol.

Corbins rarely flow seamlessly with the lines of a bike. They stick out and look like a big black marshmallow. I hate them.

I think the race tail looks pretty good. It helps tie the fairing into the bike, although i would try to keep the sidecovers. Just my .02

Side covers will always be there, I had only taken them off because I replaced the wiring harness
