Kz700 tank on kz750 was created by Rave71
Just wanted to check if anyone had tried to fit a 1984 kz700 (which from what I understand is an underbored 750) onto an older kz750. I have an 81 LTD and I think the square lines would look much better on my cafe project and additionally looks to hold about two extra gallons of gas which would be a great range increase.
If anyone has any input or a kz700 tank laying around let me know! Thanks.

The Ltd triple tree will probably bang against it. You might be able to attach a collar or something to the steering stop peg to reduce the amount of triple tree swing. I think loudhvx did that, maybe on a 550?. other guys have mentioned welding some material to the peg. any of these fixes will reduce the turning radius, so the bike won't be as easily maneuvered in tight quarters.

Aside from steering issues, the fuel lines and petcock ect will line up?

I'd like to know where you found the tank. It's the same as the GPz and hard as hell to find in the states.
Another good upgrade is fitting a KZ 1000E tank to a 750. The lines are almost the same as a MKII. I have one of those but I'm not sure I want to put it on my GPz.

Sorry, I didn't even think about the fitment. I don't know how the 700 tank would fit. One thing is that it attaches differently at the rear, but you might be able to bend the rear tab on the 700 to orient it the same as the Ltd. But I don't know how similar the frame tunnel is or if the front mounts line up.Rave71 wrote: Aside from steering issues, the fuel lines and petcock ect will line up?
