Howdy from Texas.
I've finally got my bike to a point where I want to start messing around with mostly cosmetic mods.
Anybody have any experience with putting a different fuel tank on a 750 LTD? I know the fork angle is different, so probably gets in the way, but do any other tanks bolt straight on?
cheers

This question gets asked a lot on here, i can understand why the LTD tank isn't winning any beauty pageant. I have yet to see anything bolt on, but if you are willing to modify the frame or tank most of the 650, 750 and 1000 tanks will probably fit without too much hassle. Because the LTD has leading axle forks it has less offset in the triple trees than most other bikes. This means most tanks will probably hit the forks at full lock unless they are pretty far back.

If the bike is a 750H 4-cyl, a 750E tank will bolt on but the triple tree will bang against it. one fix would be to weld some material onto the steering stop peg. or drill a hole thru the peg & install a hardened bolt & nut. or install the 750E front end ---- its triple tree is angled forward & would probably allow clearance.
