Hello everyone , first post, hope you can help.
Just about to buy a KZ1000P 1985. Can anyone tell me if the bike has any wind noise or buffeting problems up to 85mph ?
Also , what is the best way to lower one ?

Many thanks Carl

Welcome. Why lower it? They are very stable as they are. Mine is not a P model and I don't have that faring in cross winds I can control it unlike the smaller bikes. 60-80 MPH is common here. Pics?

Lower it incase I can't touch the floor ...I'm 5'4" :(
I'm not worried about cross winds either , just noise and buffeting from going forward.

Nice P. You can go shorter shocks but too low you might high side in the turns. Mine is quiet for wind noise but my exhaust makes up for it.

Love the bike , I had the Zephyr a few years ago , reproduction of that bike ...enjoyed it a lot. I have a few bikes at mo but looking at a P as a running project ...want to tour with it ..thus the wind noise problem...but if there is no wind/buffering then I'm happy.

The seat height is pretty low. You should be fine.
I can't answer for the wind as I've only had mine up to 75 and it has a shorter windshield. With stock gearing you'll be spinning it pretty hard at 85 mph. Do a search on KZP gearing and you'll see a lot of good advice on what to do to make them more of a high speed cruiser without giving up too much stoplight to stoplight acceleration.

Yes had a good look at the gearing . Looks like a common mod. I can do that easily. Appreciate all comments and suggestions. :)
