In North America, the 1982 KZ750R1 shares much (but not all) with the contempary KZ750L series (and the slightly later KZ700A1). It shares less with the KZ750E series (which are commonly termed the 'standards'). I cannot speak for European versions of these. I do know that the 1982 GPz750 shares some motor components with the 1983 and later ZX750 (=GPz750) but that the frame and suspension was completely reworked for the 1983 ZX models.

750P is lift off just like 750R.
They aren't identical but should suit my purposes. I don't know if they'll suit Jriders'.

The pans are obviously a different shape. This isn't concerning me very much actually. I did a trial fitting and so far my observations:
I had to remove the front pads to get the front tangs to engage but they did nicely after that. The seat is flat at the back so it interferes with the grab bar and tail piece so i wasn't able to lay it flat, I'll have to trim it back an inch or 2. The latch loops are too far forward but I should be able to move them back and maybe use spacers and pads in certain places to get the seat to sit even and flush. i plan on converting this to a solo seat/tail rack similar to this but more practical than pretty.
Overall, it should suit my purposes but I don't know if it will suit yours, Jrider.
