i bought a lower cowling from a 84 honda 750 interrupter to put on my 750R1. what would be the best way to mount it to the bike?

I have read that heavy duty "zip strips" are a common choice...You will probably have to a bit of trimming to clear exhaust

Making brackets is the usual route.
I zip tied mine on at first, as there were 4 holes already in the corners, and tying it on was quick and easy.
The frame is right there too, so no need to work out gaps and such.
It's worked fine for a number of years now.
I do remove it at least once a year, when using stands for storage etc.

I like to pic with the cop car in the back ground. I sent to my neighbor, "Hey there's Jeff". Reminds me of him. The clear cover is cool too. How about fence clamps or EMT clamps?

You could use stainless P-clamps. Find the diameter of the frame, buy the rubber isolated size and you can then bolt it on without welding. Looks clean as well.
Nick-The shark mouth on your fairing is badass...
