Hello Shawn,

I did my hubs, they turned out nice and have held up almost 2 years now.

Hell, I powder coated every thing that was bolted down......and not...... :woohoo:

It funny this came up because I was talking to my powder coater and he brought up Anodizing as a way to go for spokes. You get color, but no weight and fitment problems. I would powder coat the hubs but never do spokes.

good luck

I just did mine haven't had it on the road yet so not sure about durability
I used lacquer paint purely from the rational from 30 yrs ago when we dyed car interiors the quote vinyl dye was based on lacquer paint it isn't as brittle as eurathane and enamels and should flex a little as the spoke flex

His personal preference, and as 4theKZ1000 said "weight and fitment problems" if you are going to true or disassemble the wheel later, painting the spokes can make is problematic. To me when i see painted spokes it tells me the person was on a budget, not that that is bad. when i see a wheel with painted hub and/or rim, but the spokes are chrome it usually means the wheel was rebuilt with new spokes and maybe rim. Here is a wheel a built for a friend.
