I am always looking for little things that make a bike "pop" and sometimes its a simple thing like anodizing a few nuts / bolts or some braided lines.
When I sold bikes back in the late 70's - early 80's a few bikes like the Kawi LTD and others had white-lettered tires to emulate the muscle car look of the period.
I bought a set of new Michelin Pilot Activs for my Katana and was thinking it might look cool to do the lettering like on the MotoGP bikes.
Has anyone ever done this? Doing the white on blue might be tough but even doing just the lettering and maybe "Bib" (the Michelin man) might look cool. I know you can buy pens to do this but my fear it the stuff would wipe off when you cleaned the tires (especially with all the oily grime that can accumulate on tire) I'll bet Armor All would wipe the stuff right off.
With the tires new I am thinking maybe a white nail polish might stick like glue and create a nice long lasting finish.
I am big on ideas but small on talent and if anyone can suggest a product I will have my neighbor who is a professional artist and sign painter do the job.
Suggestions anyone?
Wayne

There used to be colored grease crayons back in the 60's for detailing tire letters.

I used to drive truck over the road. Every once in a while one of those owner-operators
with all the 'chicken' lights will have the lettering on their tires hi lighted. They use paint sticks.
The ones you have to shake up and depress the felt tip to dispense the paint. The local Ace
hardware stocks them in different colors.

whatever you use you will have to reapply it after a while as pretty much nothing sticks to vulcanized rubber. But i agree that gives the tire a vintage race look. I have toyed with the idea after i saw this bike
