Adhesion is more for metal. If you have sanded to a 400 grit then sandable primer is fine for fiberglass.

adhesion promoter is used on STEEL  .......IMO, a good sealer/primer should be fine for your paint job...apply lightly for the first 2 or 3 coats and let flash between coats..... light coats will keep the resin used in making your body work from being attacked/softened by the thinner/reducer used in the rattle can.

First of all what are you fixing? Are you painting your KZ parts? Other Motorcycle parts?
Good old laquer is what I used to use. Until the tree hugger police are trying to eliminate it.
Hope you don't live in California, suprised they are not trying to ban aerosal cans
But nowadays, 2 part epoxy primer and urathane primers are the way to go. But this is spray gun material.
Go get your self some Krylon primer and load it up wet so you can wet sand it. whatever your painting.

z1kzonly wrote: Yes, adhesion promoter is used on plastics like new car bumpers and side panels.
i have only heard of it used on plastics as well. there are much better primers available for metal than adhesion promoter. like self etching and epoxy primers.
If you sanded it you are good to go! I have parted molds before and had poor adhesion with paint because the outer layer was not treated chemically or mechanically. This is a characteristic of orthophthalic resins and other polyester resins.

It is only for bare metal! Then you use your sandable primer on top of it.
Find a person with a compressor and a spray gun give him 25 bucks just to prime it for you.
Then use your rattle cans. Or.
Just use Krylon gray primer on it all.
