I want to convert it to a cafe racer, that's comfortable for long rides.. and it has a sissy bar!
I am moving to pod filters..
Right now, the bike is stock, except it has a fairing (that's coming off) and a sissy bar..
Any ideas??

this seat cover and foam.will fit the flat seat cafe look but leave you room for a passenger,or room to stretch out a lil.
some superbike bend bars,
or rearsets and clubmans,or clip-ons.
would have you well on your way to cafe nirvana.
here is a couple pics for inspiration.
the white wall isn't workin for me here, but the rest of it doesn't offend me too bad  .
this is hard to beat for a cafe.
whatever you do tho,
don't let 650ed hear you talking about cafeing such a complete stock kz  :silly: .

How you change out the handlebars? Looks like mine are connected and the wiring goes down the middle..

you will need to remove the wiring from inside your bars and install it (or use different switches)in the new bars.if you don't buy bars with holes in them already, you will have to drill/machine holes in the new bars.
you will prolly have to replace cables and brakes lines also.
wireman,
aw shucks, your making me blush  .

You can notch the handlebar switches and run the wiring outside the new bars.

   Typical, typical "cafe" bike. I'm an old man and I can beat it in the quarter mile on foot, going uphill, in gravel, barefoot. You may say "Ed, that's not possible!" But it actually is true. Why? Because like so many bikes that are not stock they chose to lighten it by removing the drive chain!    To anyone who actually rides a motorcycle rather than just pushing them around their driveway for taking pictures I say keep 'em stock, they run better with all the critical pieces in place. (Although must I admit, Leon knows which pieces are needed to make the bike actually go.)

A cafe racer that's comfortable for long rides? I've never seen one. Be sure to hold onto the airbox and to not hurt the stock exhaust system. The exhaust can be sold on eBay for pretty good $$ if it is in good shape. The airbox you may decide to reinstall, or if not, sell on eBay. Ed
