I like the brushed metal look. Is it a bad idea to remove the paint on the gas tank of my KZ250 project by wirewheel and steel wool and then apply a clearcoat to prevent rusting?

Post edited by: crd, at: 2006/04/18 16:31
I do it all the time. It can be done. First off, clean the metal parts after you have brushed or grind them. Use House of Kolor adhesion promoter. I will get the part number for you if needed. Let it dry and clear away. On some custom paint work we also put candy in with the clear giving it a colored affect. Looks great !

Naiveté in grownups is often charming, but when coupled with vanity, it is indistinguishable from stupidity.
Tis better to remain silent and thought a fool - than to speak up and remove all doubt.
Did ever think that maybe you've been doing it wrong all these years?
