I was taking off my tach cable and noticed an unbelievable amount of grime all over my bikes nether regions. Does anyone have any helpful suggestions as to how I can clean all the gunk and shmeg off of the lower half of my bike? Pressure washer? Degreaser? Old fashioned elbow grease, spit, and a bucket of suds with a sponge? What's the best way that's safest for the bike? I don't know if I should be worried about hurting any seals or anything. Thanks a lot!

Get a can of Gunk and go to your local do it yourself car wash. Keep the bike running and spray the engine and bike paying attention not to get the air filter and or points cover soaked. Then spray it from a distance and move closer trying not to wet the air filters. As long as it will idle you will be alright, if you wet the filters or points you will have to dry them out so it will start again and this can be a pain sometimes.
This method has its drawbacks if something gets wet like the filters, ignition, wiring etc.
You could gunk it and use a garden hose from home to. A bucket and soft brush works to. I like the car wash to get it clean then keep up with it at home but thats just me. I am sure others will chime in

Brake cleaner and a rag works good, then a good scrub and pressure washing after... A heated pressure washer is even better, softens the stuff up and it falls right off.
