I'm going to get a free custom paint job on my bike.

A friend of mine that does custom paint is going to do it.

My paint has a lot of blemishes and the bike really needs it.

I'll have to paint the frame also. I was going to install another engine so i quess the time is right.

I wish i could afford a hundred bucks for new wiring but i'll go through the wiring and rewrap it. Roy

Saw a show where they camo dip compound bows and stocks in this big vat and a slip of camo adheres like a plastic coating that is tough as nails. I'd like to find someone near here that does that. I have an extra set of body work that I'd try it with. All the different camos are represented. Also had a friend that did everything in Rhino Liner(the stuff they do pickup truck beds in.). Looked pretty good. Like a hairy flat black. Sort of alien skin. Free paint is good too! ;) GLuck!

My friend told me to get the clear coat off and sand it down. Sure was a lot of clear cloat.

Started on that tonight. Was so warm i had to turn the heat off.

There is a few dings that need to be taken care of.

First picture for refrence of what the flames look like when i go back to paint it.

The previous owner cut the turn signal tabs off so i need to clean up that area.

I had a "J" front fender and just put it on to see if it would fit. It did. Too square.

There is going to be a whole lot of sanding going on.

Here is the tab i repaired on the side cover. It's a shame i have to sand them down again.

They were so pretty.

hey Roy, if you still have some sanding to do might I suggest trying to use a heat gun? I discovered it when stripping guitars. Set the gun to low, and hold it half an inch from the paint and very slowly move it from side to side. Once you get a decent area heated you take a scraper and the paint will peel off, no scraping, or scratching, or damaging anything. Once you find that the paint is not peeling, just heat it again, don't try to scrape it as you can cut the plastic. I stripped my tank in 20 minutes that way, and my plastic pieces really fast too.

I got a DA sander and it makes life a whole lot easier.

I've been working the old compressor pretty hard.

I have nearly every tool i want for my shop. When i get the youngest daughter a car paid for i will buy me a decent wire welder.

Free paint job is great!!!!!!!
The last free paint job a friend did for me was in 1986. He painted it Plumb Crazy, the purple color from the old Mopars of the 70's. What color are you gonna go with Roy?

I was thinking about the purple color last night and i was thinking plum crazy from a cuda might match.

I have to go to the parts store today for sanding disks so i will check out the color charts.

The guy painting it had a lot of colors but i get a lot of comments on the present paint job and i don't want it gaudy. Roy

Plum Crazy is not gaudy in my opinion. Those purple Barricudas are a hot looking car. That is what made me choose that color, reminds me of days gone past
