What color to paint my Z1 900?

Paint it what ever color YOU want, you can always get a second set to do stock. I my self have 5 sets working on a 6th.

You can't possibly compare a stock paintjob to any of those?? Everyone is different. Just ate dinner and better refrain from further comment. They don't come any nicer than a stock Z1 paint scheme.

now if we were to be true to form on this correct way...right way....thinking then we would all have the same bikes yes..........NO.....stock paint is great......on some years and models.......not great on some......my kz900 was a plainer year.....my paint is original paint..it is very pretty...from ten feet away....but a gloss black kawi with white emblems and some nice mods is a sweet bike on any continent...cost about a quarter of this retro re-hab paint folks are so fond of pushing ...and when god forbid you actually ride the thing and a bird shits on it... you can finish the nice outdoor cafe lunch your eating with the 1000.00 you saved....and wipe it off in due time with a napkin...instead of treating it like rolls royce.....HA

that said...i want a set of that body work too...soooooo bad and can not afford it.....some can god bless em.....i also want nicole kidman to start calling me...aint gonna happen...

I love the look of chrome fenders, but the previous owner painted over them, so my only option as far as my budget goes is trying to score on off ebay for a reasonable price.

You can always paint the fender gloss black, that would go with any color you want.

very true, especially since another member here trianglelaguna, is sending me a spare chrome rear fender he has. So the one on the right now will probally go glossy black.

I tend to agree with this. I want to go with OEM paint on my KZ900, but the brown or green paint and striping was fairly ho-hum. I've thought about mixing earlier Z1 paint/striping combinations to come up with a new/old look but can't decide. Been doing some Photoshopping lately, here's the '74 green with the '75 stripes. I've got a couple other combinations if anyone wants to see them.
