07 Sep 2024 10:22
Hello,
i would lik to restore a kz1000 petcock with a gray spigot but this spigot is leaking.
I can move or remove this spigot easy ... is it notmal?
Do i need an o-ring on this spigot or any sceller ?
Do i have to use a hammer to fix it ... ?
Thank you

Yes there is an o-ring on it and a set screw to locate it and allow for movement.
The pics I have are for a some what like petcock from a 77 KZ650 which shows these.

It should be a tight fit. A few light taps with a hammer might do it. If not I used a smear of JB weld to seal them. Taking a sharp punch in a few places around it could tighten it up too. I did both.
