Hello, looking for info on the O-ring that is for the white plastic reservoir & aluminum body for the rear caliper from KZ1000 77-78 A model. Or there all the same.
Partszilla does not show a diagram on this particular one?
My bearing & seal guy can come up with one most likely.
The lip in the bore looks like a caliper piston O-ring groove with the square edge's
Just wondering if the Kaw Dealer might have one? I have never looked for one of these.
But I'm doing an all out resto of the master cyl. & caliper. Need a new O-ring / seal / whatever?
Also, seeing It will be matched set, I might go with DOT 5 silicone fluid in the system. Won't eat paint down the road.
I'll make up a braided hose to match also.
I thought I gave this Kaw stuff up a year ago?
ALSO: Looking for a nice plastic dust cover for brake pads on the caliper? Like the 2, I sold over last 3-4 years.
One in Picture is from a GS Suzuki.
Thanks
Marty in Buffalo

Hi Marty, CMNSL don't show the seal as a replacement part (so no part number) the cover looks pretty generic. There is a guy advertising one in Germany but I guess it depends how bad you want it

Thanks Wookie! And as I was looking for items on eBay.
One of your Companies "LEGENDS MOTORCYCLES" In the UK? has a dust cap cover for the rear caliper.
It will cost me about $50 US dollars to get.
Are they a reputable outfit? For shipping International?
I'm hoping someone has one 1st. Before I pay $50.
I'm always about 3-4 months out on my work projects.
I'm retired, twice! from bike work too!

I Have also been looking for that seal along with a rebuild kit for the Master cylinder, ( I Know there out there but trying to find them at a reasonable price) and FYI the seal that came off of my MC reservoir was round.
I have been talking with Steve at Brakecrafters (937-875-5129) in Troy Ohio, and he tells me he has a source for those parts but most likely not available till the third week of December. Give him a call and see if he can help.

Hi All, have not looked at this post.
But, I ordered these O-rings. And I have extras to help others.
And, I did some research on REDLINE.
I google mapped the place, then I called a few Business's close, got 1 reply from a Nice Older Woman of course,
She told me the building is just sitting there with no signs of activity or no signs in the windows of front?
Not a good sign???
Back to the O-rings. ordered These: for the chemists out there, and the safety officers needing a MSDS sheet.WHAT IS EPDM?An EPDM O ring is made from ethylene-propylene diene monomer [M-class] rubber, a type of synthetic terpolymer. Apart from its durability and resistance against numerous environmental factors, this pliable material is very flexible in low temperatures, which can be as low as -60°F/-51°C. It can also easily resist hot water and steam with temperatures up to 300°F/150°C.
Or a plumbing O-ring from Home Orange might work too.
And I have 5 extra, as I had to order a bag of 10!
I am going to list a few on eBay for $10 shipped.
Or anyone here can give me $5 to mail in a regular stamped envelope.
Plus for the cerakote info? I purchased some. I have not used it yet. I have all sorts of things going on.
So it's on my list of things to do! PLus I have to give the old lady money for a day of shopping and lunch!
"So I can run oven at 250° for 2 hours to cure! And 1 hour to vent the kitchen!! with silly holiday candles! (been there, done that)
Here's what I got!

That CERAKOTE hardener / catalyst tube looks like my epidural injections I get every 4 months in my spine!
Thanks to WOOKIE for making me think of trying cerakote! I wish I had started this stuff 15 years ago!.
I'm going to coat an alley sweeper of mine that I keep in my garage, as I am out at all different times of night and day. Point & blast if need be!
Go's along with Grannies new Stoeger double barrel / stage COUCH preferred! Weapon of defense!
