1981 GPz550 rear master assembly. EBAY? WHERE?
30 Apr 2023 14:43
Hello all. Pushing ahead on my GPz550 restoration. I can maybe see the end of the tunnel on a good day.
I'd like to replace the entire rear master cylinder assembly. Master, cup, hose. Is there a good eBay replacement? I'd also like to run a steel line from the caliper to the master.
Sorry if I asked this before. I had a bad case of COVID and my memory very slow to return. I'm SHOCKED that I remembered my PW here.

A pic of your GPz550 rear master cylinder assembly would be helpful.

chopper1963 - no worries; here is the thread from 2018 where you asked about it
kzrider.com/forum/5-chassis/608177-repla...aster-on-1981-gpz550
It includes guidance from loudhvx (RIP) and Scirocco for using MCs from other bikes.
I set up a search on ebay and kept after it until I found a good used MC and an NOS internal piston. This genuinely took 3-4 years of absolutely no results, then those two items popped up within a few weeks of each other. Can't predict how that's going to go.
In the interest of time, you could adapt a part now and continue to search for the correct one. Either way, finding a stainless brake line to fit shouldn't be a problem at all. You can also make one yourself or have a brake shop make it for you with the fittings you want.

Any NISSEN 1/2 MC do the same job!
