There is one person who claimed to have a list of the frame and engine numbers for every TC made.  That person also at some point claimed that they were never going to share the list with anyone out of spite, but I never figured out what they were angry about.  Anyway, there is no published list that I'm aware of.

There is a thread about it here from about 10 years ago.

But in general, my impression is that the TCs were largely converted from leftover dealer stock.  So they would not follow any specific serial number pattern or range.  One thing I've seen several times in TC listings is original purchase documentation.  In order to buy one you had to sign a form that said there was no warranty and that Kawasaki wasn't responsible for anything you did with it.  That form has the frame number on it.

Without access to a master list or dealer form, the only way to know is too look at all the special TC pieces and see if the whole package looks correct.  There are lots of little details. But I've seen many TCs sell for big bucks with no documentation to prove they were original.

I think any Z1R in nice shape with a turbo and the Molly paint will sell for good money.

One more detail.  My own research suggests that the '78 Z1Rs imported into the US were all frame numbers below around 9000.  If this was an original TC, it would have been one of the very last bikes imported into the US.

To be honest DOHC i kinda figured it was a TC paint job on a standard Z1R as i can see the orange peel on the side cover and to be more honest i would be happy with a standard Z1R anyways, its one of my dream bikes and the money im getting this for it wont be a disappointment. The main thing is i know the documentation is real, the next big find will be a set of cases to go with her.
