VIN sticker, does it have to be there?
11 Mar 2021 14:07
In preparation to frame refinish. I am not sure what to do with sticker. VIN number also on a frame. But this white sticker with model info is starting to peel a little.
Will it survive powdercoat oven? Any tips on keeping it and masking around?
Does it really have to be there or just VIN in metal will be fine?

Typically stamped VIN is enough

Powdercoat oven will cook it

You can try Rick Brett on Facebook.
I have several restored bikes along with a 2006 Goldwing with a sidecar. My wife has a 2019 Suzuki DR 650 for on and off road.

I should know better! But I have a hybrid dragbike I purchased 1 yr. ago. That has a 1977 KZTOOA title. I need to clean up frame with no numbers, then ad them.
The numbers are on the left side of frame? Dyno side. As The Z1, KZ, Z1F as usual? Just checkin'
Thanks.

Interesting! That sticker is completely different than the original sticker on my 1977 KZ650-C1. Maybe they changed it in 1978 or maybe the bikes made in the US, like the 1978 one, had a different sticker than those made in Japan like my 1977. Ed
