I have a 79 KZ1000E that came originally with hard, black locking saddle bags and a rear hard bag as well. I was considering selling them. Is there a demand for them? Are they worth selling? And if they are, what would be a good price? a scratch or two but thats it.?

They never came with bags or trunk. They may have offered these as add ons, probably Vetter. It was one of the many things guys added thinking it was a worthwhile add on. From the factory the motorcycle didn't ever have these. Some dealers may have added them. Anyway, I doubt anyone now would want them on the ST, so value is minimal to say the least.
321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.

I'll try and snap a few pics this evening... Because it had the rear turn signal lights enbedded in the hard bags, I thought it came with the bike. I've been saving them all this time but now they are just taking up space in my shed...

Those saddlebags look like KG Engineering. I believe you need the KG luggage rack to mount those bags. Did the bike have a luggage with those bags?? Its been like 35 years since I had anything to do with KG!!!

Yep! Those are the bags! I believe I do have the mounting rack for them too. It's still attached to the rear bag in my shed. I even have the sissy bar from it. Are they worth anything? Is there any demand for them? I want to sell them to someone who really is in the market for them. I notice your bike is a Honda? How did they end up on my KZ1000E? I guess it's safe to say, they are not from the factory then?

Back in the day, ie the 70's, hard bags where used as coolers for day trips. Kept the food and beverages cold while no one else knew the difference.
Just needed to keep the load balanced. If you have the complete set with all the hardware, it would be valuable to the right buyer.

I have these old bags never used? No Brackets though, not that a backyard engineer can't do with some angle iron, scrap steel and a mig welder could fabricate.
They sat on ebay last year for a month and no one took them.
They had a Kawasaki Decal inside lid.
Maybe aftermarket accessories the dealers used back whenever??
Anyone interested? Before I try ebay again or FB Marketplace?
Here are the pics from a yr. ago.
