78 kaw 1000, ltd Rear break pads changeout request

My 78kz1000 LTD Rear Rotor currently has the original look with the holes , but Not drilled. and no square pattern. And maintaining as all original is important to me. The ol' dude that is selling the used kaw rotor apparently has a stockpile of old kaw parts.
I 'll plan check it out. Who knows what we might discover.... standby. Thank you folks.

So , Not going to just resurface your rotors ?

Yes. Most likely. I have Not done a full complete assessment on the current OE rotor. I think that diagnostic process is called - run out.

And we'll add that I have not bled the brake lines yet _per kaw service manual..(with the new rear pads install ,etc) to establish or confirm why I am still getting the slight rubbing noise. Just guessing that the binding caliper / dirty brake line / fluid is causing the slight rub. Or both could be culprits I presume.

Meanwhile, I am curious about this dudes kaw inventory. He had a craigslist ad posted with a basic pix of the large storage garage items. Looks kinda interesting..

So, after the New rear pads install and bleeding the rear brake lines, the rubbing sound seems to have disappeared ! I noticed when bleeding the lines that there was some nasty looking crud oozing out into the catch vessel. I tried to pump the foot pedal until the fluid was clear. The 2 test drives showed no noise . I guess I got lucky and the caliper , piston and master cylinder were close to seizing I guess..
Again,, This bike had sat idle for a year or more, the PO stated.

Here is what squirted out into the vessel.
I think I got most of it to pass thru the line.

Just my opinion here, but if I saw that come out of a caliper, I would completely dismantle the entire system and carefully clean each part. to be 100% sure that all that crud was removed. Just bleeding can leave a surprising amount of crud in there. I would also carefully flush the line and likely replace the flexible line unless I was absolutely certain that it is fairly new.

Yes. Absolutely, Safety first- always. I appreciate your genuine concern for me and the other member's safety. A+. I had read another of your comments about brakes and Not skimping on the task. No shortcuts allowed folks -it is just too risky with these old bike's.
