Yeah, saw 2 yearling dear that darted in front of the other day and then the 3rd went across lagging behind. Bear, moose, but as you say it's is nice scenery. Riding at dusk or dawn is risky. Saw a few cubs in an Apple tree last year and the tree limbs went out over the road. That size they are so cute. The 280 pound one that visits me as he makes his rounds isn't that cute and he's kind of dumb. I always see him before he sees me but then we both turn and head the way we came. He grunts and makes all kind of noises while he's rummaging around.

I'll get some pics up of the cylinder that I and take some measurements for the spacing and the diameter of the bolt holes.

Sounds good. We got it a lot cleaner, an amazing amount of muck was under that plate, but the holes are both still plugged.
I can turn it, but she doesn't want to pop out.

If you see that bottom piece and it spins I doubt it's much different from these. That piece is layered not a solid piece, it's flimsy and it popped out easy. Haven't a clue as to why yours isn't. My cylinder is from a 78 KZ650 C2 and that model isn't on the kawasaki website for part numbers. I "laughed" about that earlier and SMFH. It's most assuredly the way that goes around here, par for the course, SNAFU city.

Turns out the guy left a little tiny Bible in the saddlebags I bought but the print is sooo tiny had to laugh again. I think that's when all the trouble began.

The o-rings hold it together, a little force/pressure is needed to separat the parts, like some air pressure through air bleed valve #18 with the cap #2 on.

Okay, so no screws in this one like in these. Strange because my 76 900 has the screws as well as is shown in the pics I can’t send.

Scirocco thanks for the input. I did try, plugged all the ports and put air to it. Unfortunately it didn't move the reservoir (air leaked out of the reservoir o-rings). but got a little more of the gunk out.
So between kerosene and vinegar/ATF baths
and blowing we got it pretty clean. The supply port is not plugged anymore, but not sure about the relief port.
Its building pressure at least, but haven't been able to get a good bleed yet. Wouldn't be surprised if the lines/caliber or gunked up also.
Just more playing around we get to do.

Well it's certainly no trouble at all and I've been thinking more about this situation. If the master is indeed different and has been superseded then why was it superceded? Where there problems? Was it to cut costs? Can't know but I do know this -- your son will bee riding this bike and brakes are pretty important so you are welcome to have the master I offered if it will fit. As an alternative maybe there is a new master that will fit and be the right prescription. Grant650 did a remote reservoir looking one on his bike. Truthfully, I'm thinking of going this route too.

But we need to have good quality, tested and approved items, preferably by the members here.

Let's keep on this.

One list thing before I retire. At kawasaki.com you'll find parts diagrams so you can see what is what. I'm starting to print out all the parts diagrams that I need for all my projects. You can then know what is missing from your project. It's under the owners nav tab just under the header on the site. I'm not sure if you know this but there it is.

Totally agree the brakes are no the place to cut any corners. The remote MC is something we were looking at, I will have to search out Grant650 for details on something that is confirmed. Right now I'm a little addicted to get this one working to test the calipers and connections, plus it fun understanding how everything works in the system even knowing that you are probably going to have to replace it.
Other than that it we are moving along well, but he has to run off to school now and decided he really wanted to replace the chain. Only got half done before getting side tracked with local friends, so I now have a bike to play with.
Which does bring up an off topic question that I haven't researched the forum yet. The owners manual said to ONLY use an Endless Chain and gave a part number that appears to be non-existent. Is it safe to use a new chain with a master link or does it need to be Endless. Worried that the son is more interested in cool looking than safety. AGAIN don't want to start an off topic if I should just search, but if it a quick YES/NO then that is not too bad.
