I have a 1977 KZ1000A1. When I removed the sediment cup to clean the filter, there doesn't seem to be one. Shouldn 't there be a small round screen that installs on top of the sediment cup. Would anyone know of a part number?

Back in the saddle and loving it! KZ1000A1

I run inline filters. You can get them at any bike/dirt biker shop.

Below is a picture of the screen that sits on top of the KZ650-C1 petcock cup. Your petcock may need a different type. Like SWest, I also use an inline fuel filter. Mine is a Golan Super Mini (second picture below); it has a washable filter element. Ed

Kawasaki shows the filter screen, but without a part number, suggesting that the only way to get one was to order a whole new valve, which is nla.

The filters that SWest and 650Ed posted are superior in every way except looks, and they are readily available.
