Hi all
Hope you can help
My friend had a bit of a problem on his bike and completely destroyed his Cush drive rubbers.

Problem is he brought the bike off some guy and this aren’t the correct wheels and we don’t know what they’re off.

His bike is a 1979 Kz650B
The rear wheel is 6 spoke and the front is 5.
The Cush rubbers seem to be individual? I’ve never seen ones like this. Been googling kawasaki models all night and still can’t find out what they are.
Hope someone knows. Thanks

Looks like an 18" wheel. Are their some numbers in the casting???
Maybe a Z1R wheel

It’s a 18” wheels but no markings...
Only has 6 spokes so not a Z1R.
Baffled

Seems like they are the same as a SWM enduro bike!?
But they only sell them in sets of 5 so going to call them tomorrow

Obviously still doesn’t help with the whee though...

To my knowledge, Kz wheels are 7 spoke, with very few models having 5 spoke. 6 spoke must be aftermarket? I wonder if Enkei made 6-spoke versions?

EPM 6 spoke is my guess.

Lester had 7 spoke.
Morris had 7 Spoke.
Camagnolo had 5 spoke.
Enkei had 7 and 5 spoke.

Hey
Sorry haven’t got more photos and my mates got the bike.

Ended up getting similar Cush rubbers and trimming them slightly to fit right.

Now we’re trying to get the rear brake too work, I’ll get a photo of the calliper but the standard foot lever is so long that the travel is far to much to press so can’t get a proper brake.
It’s been converted to a disc so want to know the correct master cylinder

Damn site just ditched my long rambling post, didn't give me a chance to reload it or anything. SHEESH. I had a heck of a lot to say about wheels, perhaps best collected into an ARTICLE of some sort.... But yeah.

MAGNI, PMV - check out the Magni site for confirmation as they still sell reproduction/new-production wheels for MV Agusta, Ducati, Guzzi, Laverda etc - The 5-spoke front sounds like a CAROZZERRIA though it could also be a Laverda item, I'd have to see the spoke style.

That's definitely a period-correct BREMBO rotor - could it also be Cast-Iron as well?

In terms of KZ650 running-gear, this would be the "barn find" of all time. Wouldn't be surprised to hear you've got some other very special parts on that bike!

-Sigh,

Hey

thanks, ill have a look for the wheels.
I thought the bike should have a drum rear brake? can someone send me a link to the master cylinder that's correct to the bike?

i think the caliper is cast.
defiantly not a special bike, seems to me like someone (badly) slapped it all together and nothing on it is particularly great... engine is worn to hell and all the unknown origin parts are just aggravation. hahaha
