Racetech Springs Question was created by Move0ver
So I just installed some racetech springs and emulators on my Z1b, with 15wt Belray and 15.5mm preload spacers.
The racetech springs are 410mm and the Progressive brand springs that I had in there previously are about 527mm. Consequently, the bike now sits considerably lower than previously. I did notice that the bike doesn't settle very much at all when I sit on it vs when it had the progressive springs in it, so does this account for the "parked" ride height?

ok so here:
www.racetech.com/page/title/Springs-Long%20vs%20Short
"Many of our customers have questioned us on why our fork springs are so short, particularly on vintage applications.... Using a shorter spring has the added benefit that it will fit in more bikes if we employ different length spacers. If we tried to chase all the original spring lengths we could never make enough of any one particular design to be economical.
So there it is folks. You're gonna have to cut some spacers. But really that is the only down-side. The up-side is less weight, more applications and super-tough hi-performance springs."
So it looks like I need to make me some spacers...

Thanks!
One note with the emulators: even though the site says you need to use their adapters with the Z1, you don't. It sits on top of the damper rod perfectly fine without them.

I know someone that is using the gold valve emulators on his '84 GPz550 and had to cut about 3" off the tighter windings on his Progressive Suspension Springs, adding the Race Tech required length spacers. He says it is by far the best improvement in suspension ever! I can't wait to install mine.
