Sorry. This site seems to be slow and buggy today. I meant to post this in "bike related" not "engine." Anyhow,

I just got a Kz900 for xmas (picking it up today) and I like all of my rotors drilled so I can put a disc lock on them. I have a spare KZ650 rotor and am wondering if that will fit the KZ900 so I can go ahead and get it drilled.

I know the disc will bolt on but not sure if the disc is larger on the 900.

Im picking up the bike tomorrow. The seller says it needs a battery. Since I dont even had a manual yet, whats a good battery for a 76 KZ900

If you need it now you can get one at AZ, OR, Wally, etc. 14ah Or you can order on line for a better one with a 1 year warranty..
Lots to chose from.

If your bike is: KZ900-A4 (1976), the disc off your 76 KZ650 is the same part. Part number is 41080-005

STOP!

In order for anyone to accurately answer your question you need to identify which MODEL 1977 KZ650 the donor rotor is from.

The 1977 KZ650-B1 front rotor is not the same size as the 1977 KZ650-C1 front rotors.

The effective disk diameter of the 1977 KZ650-B1 rotor is 245mm, and the rotor thickness is 6.9 - 7.1mm.

The effective disk diameter of the 1977 KZ650-C1 rotor is 231mm, and the rotor thickness is 4.9 - 5.1mm.

The part number howzit gave is correct for the 1977 KZ650-B1 rotor. However, the part number for the 1977 KZ650-C1 front rotors is 41080-1002. So you need to know which model KZ650 the rotor originally came on to determine if it is the same as the KZ900 rotor. Ed
