used brake rotors? was created by Zaddict
My front brake rotors are under spec (3.6 and 3.8 mm - service limit is 4.0mm). New OEM rotors are $250-300 each. I see some used ones on ebay with ~4.5mm left for $50-100 for a pair. Seems like a much more economical solution. Wondering what kind of experiences people have had with used rotors...

Hey there,
With some paint and professional help you can do fine with used rotors. I've sent a dozen or more rotors to these folks with great results:
www.truedisk.net
One nice thing is that you can repaint the centers of your rotors and not mask the rotor itself, they will grind the paint right off. At $45 per rotor plus ~$40 of shipping (for both ways), it is a good value to end up with rotors that are like new., IMO.
Best,
Nils

Get the ebay ones, as long as they are not warped I would run a disk sander around them a few times to clean them up a bit and install them.
If you get them re cut there woun't much left.
