- A happy present from the earth!
Super happy to announce that we have joined Z1 Parts and Z1 Enterprises as sponsors of this excellent community, and grateful to the team that runs this site for including us.
I'm a relative newcomer to KZR, and enjoyed the community's support during the build of my first Z1 last year. And like all the best web forums I know, I got a ton of priceless assistance, advice, parts, guidance, and I learned a ton and my bike came out much better because of it. So I really like this place, this group of guys. Definitely something I am happy to support. Thank you for making me welcome.
My outfit is called RestoCycle, which I launched 2 years ago, to pursue my own personal passion for Japanese motorcycles, and to see if I can make a second career out of restoring motorcycles, and helping other people to do the same, which is something I enjoy nearly as much. I restored my first motorcycle back in 1990, and I will lay claim to the establishment of one of the very first online resources for motorcycle restoration, on AOL, which numbered in the 10s of thousands of users when I started the "Restoration Resources" group there. The bike was a 74 Suzuki GT750, and after two years of thrashing and a ton of money and time spent I did get it to the finish line and it was fantastic, and I was hooked.
In more recent years I have restored or substantially refurbished a handful of bikes, including a low serial number 80 Honda CBX, a VStrom, a salvaged BMW R1100S, a KLR 650, two Honda CB400Fs, the Z1, a 64 Honda C200, an 81 CB750F, and more. Like most of you I suppose, I look at an old or tired machine and all I really see is potential, and I love to see that come to fruition.
So that's probably more than you wanted to know about me, or how RestoCycle came about, but that's how I came to be here, and why I am happy to support this community, and grateful in turn for the support it has given me. I'll do my best to contribute more than just commercial products and services as I participate here, and I look forward to that too.
Best wishes to all in the new year,
Nils Menten

Thank you very much Joe, and for your help too. I love those things, they are little jewels to me, and so much fun to work on. I've got a CB350F in my hoar^^^COLLECTION waiting its turn, and I am looking forward to doing that bike too.
If you're interested in the entire bloody-knuckled project, I did a fairly exhaustive (get it?) build thread here:

Much to my delight, I entered the first 400F I did in our local vintage show and it took first in the category!
I got a swell trophy, a cuddle from the trophy girls and a ribbon. It was great fun
