Hey folks,
I searched around for a while here looking for what sorts of tires y'all throw on your stock bike suspensions, specifically looking for kz1000 CSRs like mine, and I'm not coming up with much (could be looking in the wrong places). In any case, BikeBandit.com and the like really only seem to offer Metzeler Lasertecs and Conti Go sets that match the 3.25-19 front and 130/90-16 rear on the stock CSR spoked rims. Is that it for matching tires? Do any of you mix and match tires? FWIW, most of my riding will be on the flat, straight roads so tire longevity and comfort is a plus.

Well here's a new development: the current front tire is a Dunlop D404 100/90-19. Is that the same as a 3.25-19 then? Should I be concerned?

Having used numerous different tires over the past 40 years on my KZ I highly recommend Pirelli Sport Demons. You would use 100/90-19 up font and 130/90-16 on the rear. I've been using them for the past 8 years and they provide excellent traction and very good longevity. Be sure to replace your old tubes when you install new tires. I use Metzeler tubes. Ed

Appreciate the input and tire recommendation. I didn't know about the inch/metric tire conversion. There's a helpful chart at www.motorcycleproducts.co.uk/tyreguide.php for future reference. Definitely opens up my options. Also considering Battlax BT45s, Metzeler Lasertec, and Bridgestone Spitfires (the white raised lettering looks fantastic). Interested in knowing anyone's experiences with these tires.

I HAVE BRIDGESTONE BATTLAX BT45R TIRES ON MY BIKE. THEY WORK VERY WELL. THEY HAVE BEEN ON FOR SEVERAL YEARS, SO DONT KNOW IF THEY STILL MAKE THEM OR NOT. AS STATED ABOVE...NEW TUBES FOR SURE!!! 100/90-19 FRONT, 130/90-16 REAR
