Fork Oil Change filler location??? was created by Phillip14
Hello All,

I just purchased a 1981 Kawasaki KZ305, I have the manual, did my research before asking the forums but I CANT FIND THE FILLER ACCESS OR PLACE YOU PUT THE FORK OIL on the fork. The drain plug is obvious, but when I remove the black cap over the fork there is nothing, nothing to accept a screw driver or wrench. Its just a smooth, machined cap. Where do I put the oil or what do I unscrew to remove the inner spring??

I would appreciate any advice or help.

Thank you

Hello Phillip14

You have to remove the criclip to get the plug out.

You are making a HUGE mistake trying to work on the bike without using the Kawasaki Service Manual. Don't do it; you will cause more harm than good! If you currently don't have the funds to buy a manual use the one at the link below until you do. Ed

When removing the circlip, keep in mind that the plug is under spring pressure & can go flying.
Before removing the circlip & plug, if it's all dirty, crusty & rusted, I would saturate it with a penetrant & let it sit overnight or longer, then clean it up some, then remove the clip. I use liquid wrench penetrating spray lubricant.
