That's a very good question ! I'll check that today if I can, you're right the stand should not be able to spread if the nut was in good shape...

Ok so I have finally understand what's happening with this stand.
It look like the last part of the threads on the main bolt are damaged, therefore the upper part of the stand is not tightly hold and it spreads. Actually I can't even get the bolt out right now, it does not go through the threads on the stand anymore, I'll have to cut it (and hopefully not cut the stand or the chassis at the same time). I don't understand how I managed to miss this yesterday...
SWest I'm still interested in your stand, if I damage mine when I cut the bolt I'll have a spare one.

I sent it off. Hopefully it will get there alright. I'm making a clip on it.

A side stand should be tough enough to survive in any kind of parcel across half of the planet.
I'd really like to see your clip, your place looks so different than mine, truly another world actually.

Here is what I see writing this post, much greener than where you are but much harder for old cars and bikes, lots of rust and even rubbers tend to rot...

By the way, what's the part number or the manufacturer of the windshield on your bike as seen on your avatar picture ?

Good to know that's the first time I see an old Kawasaki with a windshield that does not look ugly !

I like it. I can sit up in high winds (we have a lot here) or do a ton without straining. I hated having to tuck in and if it rains, who gives a SHT.

I hope you get it soon Irvin. I paid $17 including shipping a few months ago but it was too long. Glad one of our members can use it. B)

20 minutes to ship a letter ! I thought our PO guys were slow but yours are really in another league !
Thanks for spending so much time there and don't worry about the customs, I got caught twice in 5 years, never with USPS first class, and if it's sent as a gift they simply don't care.

Indeed but now it will fall into a black hole as there is no detailed tracking for USPS first class parcels once they reach their destination country.
