Will these shocks fit on my MKII? was created by 300kph
While I would love to put a pair of OHLINS on the rear I don't have the budget and they are waaaay to pricey to put on that bike.

Shocks

My buddy bought a pair for his GS1100 and says they were decent value.

They have to be better than the originals I still have on the bike. Or are they?

Anyone?

Sorry, but there's no such thing as a good set of motorcycle shocks that only cost $71.99. :( Ed

My question when it comes to anything Chinese is this;
Is it from experience that people think its junk or is it because its cheap and chinese they think its junk??

I don't know about theses shocks, but I have bought the super cheap chinese "junk" mirrors, blinkers, grip locks, and for the price thought it was a great value. There masters at copying things.

My "story" is this, Here in Milwaukee Wi we have some industry left, one of them makes BIG gears and transmissions and such for mining equipment. They like others own factories in china and because of this they can compare the same manufacturing from china to the USA. The chinese have duplicated the process they learned here and because of all sorts of reasons can produce parts for less than 1/3 of the cost, When they brought the chinese part over to the the plant in Milwaukee they had there top employees blind choose which part had a better fit and finish……the story didn't end well…. and the department that once had 300 employees and made ALL those parts for the entire word now has less than 20 and only do certain specialty parts.
I don't work in manufacturing, but own a small residential construction company,
Many residential doors are now made in china, and we can complain but the quality is on par with mass produced doors in the USA and there less $$. When a bid comes down to budget and I need to sell …... :(
We need to wake up to the fact that the chinese can and do make good stuff cheap or we are going to be CRUSHED at least here in the U.S. I don't know about the rest of the world.

Now that that my silly political/economical rant is over (sorry... )
For 79.00 try them ….why not…. there probably better than a set of worn out old shocks.
I know on other motorcycle boards those shocks get OK reviews , they aren't Ohlins for sure, can't be for 79.00

I believe its called "Oppositional Defiance Disorder"

What I have heard is that these Chinese shocks can be purchased and then one contacts the site listed link below, and he will rebuild them to a higher standard. I have not done this personally.

Progressive makes some real good shocks for a decent price. I see they also make some high dollar shocks now too!!!

I have had real good luck with their shocks in the past. They exactly work!!!

They remind me of the old S&W shocks from the 70's!!!

I know of a member of another forum that had the bottom clevis of one break while he was riding his bike. I bought a set very cheap a few years back out of curiosity, just to see what they were like, I will only use them for mocking up, wouldn't use them on the street. I used to have a link to a site/blog a guy had written up as to what was involved in making these shocks work, he changed the oil, seals and bottom section with stainless parts, he wrote a comprehensive review on them and advised that they really weren't worth all the work to set them up properly, he did it out of curiosity too... The blog disappeared a while ago... I'm not anti China, like Japan and Korea, they will eventually be just as good as anyone else, their products aren far better now than they were 10 years ago, and I suspect they will continue to improve....
You get what you pay for, I never scrimp on tires and suspension... ;)

Lots of differing views but none answer my question: Will they fit the MKII?

What is stock shock length? 320mm or 350mm?

Anyone know?
