Hey guys, my daily was in the garage when matthew came to visit. Was on side stand and water went right up to the lowest float bowl. I already changed the oil and started it. It ran well. My question is, what else should i be looking at as far as saltwater intrusion. I have a new chain and sprockets already but am worried about bearings. I gave the bike a thorough rinse as soon as i could

Wheel and swingarm bearings. It might be prudent to disassemble and clean starter. Some fresh grease on the bushings, too.
If there was water in the crankcase, I'd be tempted to do another oil change soon.

That really bites.

So i know the swingarm bearings arent sealed but arent the wheel bearings sealed? And there was zero water in the oil.

Iif most of the electrics were out of the brackish water, I'd rinse it off, pull the starter and wash it out, change the oil, fresh gas and ride this piss out of it.

Typically the wheel bearings are sealed, but water could get past them and may be lurking inside the wheel just waiting to cause problems, and I'm not sore the bearing seals were designed for extended underwater duty.

It would be prudent to at least check and grease them. I got new ones, big difference. B)

Ok. Thanks guys. Ths whole situation has been a punch in the nads. My whole kitchen is in my garage. It takes a solid minute to get to tje toolbox. A few bearings are probably cheap insurance.

If you can get at the bearings a small xacto blade can be used to remove the bearing seal, and then you can repack them. Marine grease works well.
