KZ900 to H2 750 disc brake comparison

As the title says, I have a Kawasaki H2B 750 triple, and would like to use KZ 900 discs on it. I am led to believe they are the same 4 bolt pattern. But do the newer ones have slots or drilled in any way? I could always drill them but if I have to buy at least one then will buy a pair that are drilled.
Another question, same topic, I will upgrade the brake calipers to something like a ZX900 4 pot caliper, guessing I will have to make bolt adapters unless anyone knows of a modern caliper that fits the old 900 etc fork leg bolt pattern?

The KZ900 brake rotors did not come from the factory drilled or slotted. The front KZ900 rotors are a 4-bolt pattern, but I don't know if they will fit your H2. The 1976 KZ900 LTD had a rear disk brake, but it was not a 4-bolt pattern. Ed

Thanks. I was told the 4 bolt pattern is common, I saw a KH500 with a KZ900 disc on it. So it would be any Kawasaki 4 bolt brake disc I guess. How about a KZ650 etc?

The KZ650-C models have dual front disks; the KZ650-B models have a single front disk. Both types have a 4-bolt pattern. The dual disk rotors are a bit thinner and lighter than the single disk rotors. Ed

I have H2 calipers on mine and later model drilled disks. The wheel is off a KZ 900. I like the H2 calipers because of the fins. The rotors are thinner, almost 1/2 the weight.

These folks can properly drill, and if needed resurface, motorcycle rotors. Ed

Sounds like the 650 C model is the one to get discs from, thanks.

Your H2 would have the 6 bolt hole as Z1 73-75.
At least the 72 H2 did.
Like Steve's bike the wheels will interchange.

Hi Steve, I know you love the motorcycle as the Z1 that it truly is. But you have swicthed various parts around.
Have you ever thought of turning those OEM Z1 lower sliders and the early H2 calipers into a nice money sale??
Then switch to KZ 76 and up lowers and calipers. You see plenty of those on ebay all the time cheap.
Just wondering? But those big reflectors of the forks are Z1 to the average person.
That would be tough to change if your attached to them.

You're right. I'll get some emulators and save my HP mods for another bike. KZP/Z1 mod? :woohoo:
