Converting shaft to chain? Which parts do I need?

If transmission output shaft is the same, it is probably not hard.
I have 81 KZ1000J parts bike, which has all parts to convert (???). Will they fit my 80 KZ1000 shaft?
Will value of my bike increase if I convert it?
Thanks.

Is it a chain drive. I wouldn't be concerned about value unless you want to flip it. I suspect you will be disappointed..

No . You need to use the output shaft and selector mechanism from the same style motor.
The J output shaft is of a larger diameter.
As I stated in previous replies, there are virtually NO major engine parts from the J/GPZ engines that will fit the earlier "kicker" motors without some modification or machining.

Only thing that's the same on the shaft drive transmissions are the gears. I have three shaft drive trannies for spare gears, because they are usually cheaper

my bikes; 80kz1000(project), 77 gl1000, 74 h2 (project)
Past; 78 kz1000, 83 kz550

How do you prevent rust? Did you spray them with oil?

Ought to make it clear that it only applies to chain and shaft engines in the same engine type and not between both engine types.
The gears in the J/GPZ and 1100 shafties don't fit the earlier style 900/1000 kicker motors and vice versa .
Only the output shaft needs swapping for the shaft to chain conversion on either model.
