Longer shocks for 1982 GPz750?

Now that I have my lower bars, headlight and instrument cluster, I'd like to raise the rear on my ugly duckling a little bit. I know it will affect my geometry but my lardo, 260 lb., 6' 3" frame will probably counteract it some. From what I've gathered the nominal OEM length is 335 mm (13.25") are there any bolt on 365-375 mm (14-14.5") replacements available?

I don't know man, those 750's handle so sweet with the stock geometry you gotta be careful to not mess it up. Progressive shocks for your bike are listed as 13.5" but I believe that are actually closer to 13.75". I wouldn't go with anything longer (my opinion).

I think you would be better off with correct length shocks with springs appropriate to your weight. Progressive, Hagon and others would be happy to fix you up.

I really don't see the harm in putting on approx 1" longer shocks. The difference can't be that much than those flipping eccentrics that have them. I even see they make extenders that have a Clevis and eye to get a little more length.

The ZRX shocks are a bit longer. I didn't notice a huge difference but it did quicken the steering a little. The most bang for the buck was the cartridge emulators and Progressive springs

Well crap! Why didn't I think of that? I guess I assumed the ZRX was a monoshock. I looked it up and sure enough it's a 365 mm long shock. I think I'm going to buy or build the 30 mm extenders first and see how I like it and if I do I'll get the ZRX spec shocks for later.

It's a common mod for us doing the ELR. You have to lose the helmet lock but other than that the hardest part is finding a set for a decent price. I lucked out and paid less than $150 but I've seen them go for twice that.

I just checked my bike budget and it's bust. Looks like DIY spacers for now.Shouldn't take more than an hour or so to knock some out. I'll just shamelessly use this pic for a print.

Home brew, 30mm extensions. Good thing I didn't order any from ebay they would have fit pretty sloppy. I actually like them. bike handles well, It got me to the top of the canyon nicely.

I'll keep an eye out for a good deal on a set of actual 365mm shocks preferably piggy-backs. Except standard coil overs would look retro which is a bit of what I'm looking for.... Great another decision to make.
