zx9 to kz front end conversion

thought i would post some pics of a front end conversion i finished up last night.

as you can see with the zx9 upper triple it is possible to mill the chunk of aluminum off the bottom of the upper triple and then machine and weld a new piece of aluminum in.which gains you 3/4 of an inch of leg length.

the zx9 stem gets sawed off and milled flat.
then the kz stem that has been removed from the kz triple can be pressed into the zx9 remnant to act as the bushing,
then simply reach inside and tig weld the two together.
now it can't come out up or down :whistle: :evil: !!!

Nice job Leon, Those top triples look surprisingly like the zx600r units that my friend is currently doing up for me other than mine has the holes in them for the clipons that will be dealt with later.

Im going to look into this for my build.Ive already done the stem swap but that 3/4 inch extra length looks mighty appealing.Thanks for that Leon.
