Take a look at the Bulldock bikes then the Sanctuary bikes, do a google images! Bulldock, most pics you'll see a block under the stand, Sanctuary, it's photoshoped out or just about purely transparent but they do it too. Guess they fight the same thing. My suggestion, take 2, make 1 and make it look original.

The correct side stand for a KZ1000A is close to 12" from the pivot to the bottom of the foot/ground measured on the front of the leg. I went through this on my KZ1000A2 because it had a stand when I bought it which was a lot shorter than it should have been and was too short even with the 16" rear Lester Mag it came with. I managed to track down a correct replacement from an A2 and it made a big difference to the lean angle when parked and works with my replacement 18" rear, although I feel perhaps it still leans a fraction more than I'd like, but at the same time you don't want a gust of wind sending your bike over on the high side.

As already mentioned you will also be surprised how much difference a little play in the pivot makes, a shim washer or the like to tighten it on the lug is worth a lot on the leg length.

I was planning on buying one at Z1E but I welded it. It did make a big difference. I'll measure mine in the morning.

I think the kz stands are longer than the ltd versions,Id definately check the mount and welds on the frame also though. ;)

Seems like PMC used to sell a sexy adjustable aluminum stand, but I don't see it in the current catalogue.

I took mine and milled a scrap and placed it between the bolt holes, heated it a little and put the squeeze to it and its been fine all summer.

Mine was cracked again. I ground a groove and welded it again. First I tightened the bolt. Much better. It is 9" from bolt center to bottom of foot.

Bingo.... KZ1300 is 11" from center of boot hole to the bottom of the foot on the back side of the leg.

Spring attachment point is the same, only difference is it takes a different bolt. The smooth shank is the same, but the threaded portion is large diameter.

Doesn't the bolt thread into the fork back and have a lock nut? The shank is thicker too? Does that mean you have to drill?
