ZR7 centerstand on 82 GPz750?

So I put a '02 ZR7 header on my '82 GPZ750. I had to remove the center stand because it interfered with the header. I'm really missing having it. Does anyone know if the center stand would mount up to my frame? I know I'd probably have to rig up a stop but i think I'm up to the task.

It's kinda surprising that there's a center stand clearance issue with a right side 4-1. Is the muffler kinda below the frame?

The collector is centered about 1" too much. If you look at custom 4-1 headers many of them do a sharp turn just ahead of the oil filter cover which also clears the stock center stand. The ZR7 has a small scallop in the collector to clear the filter cover but still gets in the way of the stand just past vertical. I noticed the ZR7 stand is more of an hour glass shape presumably to clear the collector.

Thanks. I noticed that the ZR7 stand is shaped differently than the KZ, so maybe it'll work. Since it has some sort of tab welded to it on the right, I was thinking the opposite at first, though. doh.

Noticed the tab too. I just popped on eBay and found one for $26.07 (the 7¢ is the most important part, lol) shipped with the hardware. For that price I don't mind doing some alterations if it isn't a direct fit.

My biggest concern is the spacing and dimensions of the pivots.

Check out what Rob (rstnick) and BlueJ58 did here, pretty clever:

I have seen that thread and meant to look it up when my stands got in. I'm putting one back on the KZ1000ST as well.

I got the stand in. it's not a direct fit. I'm going to play with it a bit and see if it is something I can adapt. If anyone knows of anything more directly usable let me know.

OK, I just gave it a better look and it definitely wont work with the muffler I have now. I'll have to wait until I get another muffler or move the one on it.

I'll keep an eye out for alternatives.
