New Tach and Speedo

So what is the verdict on the quality of the Tach and Speedo from z1partsinc? I have the opportunity to buy the whole set up for $275. Being they are in the Socialist State of Californicate, I will have to pay sales tax. There is supposed to be a warranty. What do you guys think?

I remember Z-Resto doing a few on here (that were amazing) from the ground up....... I think it was for 95 each but probably is a little higher now and wouldn't include the bracket..... Z1 had them on their site but don't see it now but it came up with a google search ...... that way they are still your originals and not after market.

I had bought a set on e-bay that were faded had a ding on the speedo & the glasses were dirty underneath, because I was tired of not knowing how fast I was going after I'd bury the 80 MPH speedo that came on my bike, so I called & worked out a deal with Bob at Z-Resto to give him my original set & have him rebuild the ones I bought on e-bay
so it probably cost me about the same as the ones you're looking at, because I knew I couldn't get much for the 80 MPH speedo on e-bay
so you'd probably be ahead of the game compared to me, if you buy those & sell your old set on e-bay for 100.00 -125.00

I'll need to buy a new speedo cable. The one I have is spongy. I'll sell my old ones for Parts/not working best offer. That way I shouldn't get GANKED buy a flake buyer.

Just remember that the new after market speedometer and tachometer will not fit your vintage instrument bracket.p

I'm getting the whole Maguila. How did it turn out with your friend that bought some?

I forgot about that. I'm not sure if he put them in yet. I haven't talked to him in 6-8 weeks now.

I'm paying for them tomorrow. I'm also ordering a cable for it. The Tach is still good. Getting more goodies for the bike too. Pay some friends and bills, then figure what to do next. :whistle:

Well, I ordered them. Should be here Friday. I'll do a write up when I get them and while using them. If they work out, great. I've been watching them for two years. If they're junk, maybe I'll save someone money. We'll see.
