Chain is not running straight
01 Aug 2015 16:12
Need help, my chain is off to the left, fine, then off to the right. The hub that holds my gear seems to be out of alignment. Can I fix this while its on the bike? The bike rides fine a i have taking it on a couple small rides and notice this when i was installing the chain guard. In help in getting this straight with out taking the whole back tire off would be great.
Thanks,
RB

Bit difficult telling form the pics but it seems your sprocket or hub carrier is out.
No easy fix, you need to take it apart and check carefully, otherwise you'll be back soon enough replacing them...if you are lucky and it doesn't cause a breakdown or accident. Check your hub carrier carefully, I've seen them crack.

Took the rear wheel off to inspect hub, housing, and sprocket. Everything is in good condition. Put back together and now hub is sitting in the housing flush. I still have a little wave left to right in my chain. Not as bad as before but still noticeable. Anyone out there with any other ideas? Could this be an issue with the chain itself? The chain is brand new and the entire bike has been overhauled.

I ordered a bearing kit. It came with all three bearings. The one in the hub may be shot.

All new bearings nothing seemed to be wrong with bearings. Rear wheel kit from all balls. Alignment seems good, sprocket runs true, axle is in spec.

The chain has a small section with what I would call a wave of about an 1/8 of an inch. The rest of the chain runs straight.

If everything else checks out right and the bearings are installed correctly, the axle is in straight, etc., it sounds like a bad chain to me

That's what I'm thinking. Is it possible to run on this chain for a while. The chain is only out maybe an 1/8 of an inch. Runs smoothly. My top speed on this bike is 45 mph no highway miles.
