question for fitting new ZRX shocks to the KZ

Sorry I couldn't get a pick, but this is pretty much exactly where I am, except that the rivets on the chain actually touch the spring.

The zrx have an offset rear wheel as standard!

You may be able to spread your swingarm open enough to get a spacer or some washers on the left side.This may give you enough clearance.

The ZRX 1200 is, the 1100 isn't. The offsetting of the rear wheel isn't a big deal. As I stated earlier, have you tried just flipping the shocks upside down as the coil spring is larger in diameter compared to the shock body above the preload ring. So you could probable gain at least a 1/4" of clearance..... Just a thought...

I was thinking about it. Off setting isn't a good idea. The chain would ride on an angle wiping out the chain or sprockets. Maybe damaging the bearing. Spreading the swing arm could cause cracks at the welds unless it is heated and bent. Two slight bends. I welded frames and was a finish welder for three years until I was 21. Wheel chars and medical equipment but the principals are the same. Just let it cool off on it's own. That way the swing arm will be wider on one side with a spacer to make up the difference. We're only talking 1/4-1/2" here.

So I flipped the shocks upside down and now it fits great on the left side. On the right side the reservoir hits the brake caliper. So I flipped them around so the reservoir is facing front and the left still fits great (plenty of clearance), but now the spring seat is hitting the rear brake stay. For what's it's worth, the seat hit the stay the other way too, but the contact with the caliper was the bigger problem. Can I get a super thin brake stay?

Ace hard ware have some plastic bushing u can use to gain the 1/4" u may need
They would go against the frame and arm then slide your shock use one washer then a corn nut.
AlsoI if you want both side to look the same just do the same on the other side
And get 1/4" longer bolts ...also at Ace

I'd be more concerned with the reservoir being up side down.

There is nothing wrong with running upside down as the resivior is a nitrogen charged bladder that keeps the fluid in the shock pressurized. The only watch out is that now your compression and rebound adjustments are opposite location you left them! Lol. Either way, it seems you have some other clearance issues to deal with.

I looked for info online and what I could find was that with gas reservoir shocks, orientation doesn't matter. Very open to clarifications here.
