76 KZ900 brake caliper axle spacer - axle spacer

Hi Everyone,

I've been restoring a '76 KZ900 LTD for the last 11 months and finally in the reassembling stage. I'm made some modifications, don't worry, I've kept all the original parts and can put it in original form whenever I want to change it up a bit.
One of the mods has been to install spoke wheels from a '78 KZ1000 front and rear. I have had very little problems adapting them... except one royal pain of a problem.
My son and I are the only ones that have been working on it and neither of us remember or can find the spacer needed for the rear brake caliper that fits. I've attached a couple of photos to point out what I need. If anyone can help me out I would greatly appreciate it.

Several years ago I had a longer spacer shortened to fit. I think it was shortened to 25mm. There were other problems. if I remember correctly the brake caliper had to be replaced too. The LTD caliper was rubbing on the spokes and the bike needed an "A" model caliper. I sold the bike and didn't finish the conversion.

If you measure the length for the spacer you will need, I'll check and see if I still have that one around.

Thanks for the reply. The axle is 20mm and the brake caliper(hole) is 26mm.
I've read about the chance of the spokes hitting the caliper but on mine it is ok. good clearance.
Let me know if you have a spacer/bushing of that size. I will gladly buy it from you. If not, I'll have to take one of the spacers I do have and find a machine shop that can mill it down for me.

900kawpen. Is the brake rotor rubbing on the inside of the brake caliper?

No it's not. Clearance for the brake caliper and wheel spokes are fine ,I believe. I've taken photos all along during disassembly so I wouldn't(hopefully) run into a problem like this when I was re-assembling but unfortunately I don't have a good photo that sows the rear axle and brake caliper setup.
I'll be back out in the garage over the weekend to continue assembly. I have plenty to do. Just trying to head off this issue before it becomes a big hold up.

Being that is a aftermarket swing arm, the spacers have to be made to fit. When you set it where everything lines up, it should be better than stock. Good luck.
