2000 KZ1000P direct-fit seat alternatives? was created by ninefourteener
Greetings!

Ultimately, I'd like to find a factory 2-person kawasaki seat to replace the police "solo" seat..... and just have it made in a "faux" cafe seat.... using the factory pan.

I don't mind making minor frame mods... but I'd prefer to do as little as possible.

Are there any specific year/model seats that will bolt right onto my 2000 kzp frame?

Thanks in advance!

Well.... I didn't get any responses..... so after quite a bit of google searching.... I "think" a seat from an 81-82 kz1000 ltd will fit my frame with minimal modifications.... not 100% sure though.

It was a $75 risk.... but I just purchased exactly that on ebay a few hours ago. I guess we'll see when it gets here.

I'll post up in a week or so if anyone is interested in the results.

A quick search pulled up this thread--

You could pm the poster and ask how he did it.

I have a seat from a KZ 1000 I picked up years ago and adapted to my Z1. I bought a new one from Z1E and was going to offer it to you but your thread was buried so I couldn't find it. You probably got a better one anyway. The only thing I could tell is how to mount it to the frame and install the lock. They seemed to have stepped down the frame for that solo seat. Might have some welding to do for the hinges and lock.
