Which tires do you use?

The D404 is the worst tire made since 1900. Don't use that thing.

The one I think I'll go with is the Pirelli sport deamon. The only thing I'm a bit concerned about is the milage for those tires. As far as I could see the rear goes about 6000 miles for the pattern to disapear.

And then I'll of course go with a 100/90-19 in front and a 120/90-18 in the rear..

Did anyone ever try and found a good Michelin tire that fits? I have heard that they should last for way longer and have as good a grip as the Pirelli sports deamon tires. Do anyone know if this is true?

Long ago Michelin made an A48 (front) / M48 (rear) set of tires. I used several sets of them that were special ordered with PZ2 rubber compound and they stuck like glue. Of course, the rear tire only lasted 1,000 miles and the front only 2,000 miles; a lot of fun but I was going through way too many tires and $$$. Then I bought the same style (A48/M48) tires with normal street compound. They lasted much longer and offered excellent traction; not as great as PZ2 compound but very good.

Michelin stopped making that style tire years ago. So when I needed tires I bought Michelin Macadam (50E/50) tires. They did not offer nearly as much traction as the older style and were much skinnier than the older style even though I ordered the same size. Even the front tire would actually skid on dry pavement if I nailed the brake hard (scary in a panic stop situation); this had never happened before. Below is a picture of the Macadam and an A48 side by side for comparison; both are new front 100/90-19 tires,. The tread on the Macadam tires did not wear out as quickly as the older style BUT after about 4,500 miles my bike developed a high speed wobble. This wobble (very scary at 90 mph) was definitely caused by one or both of the Michelin tires even though the tread on both of them looked absolutely fine. After replacing a bunch of stuff on the bike trying to eliminate the wobble I replaced the tires (with Pirelli tires) and the wobble disappeared 100%.

I'll never buy another Michelin motorcycle tire. Ed

Well that is good to know.. Then I think I'll just stick to the Pirelli tires..

I also have a bit of wobble and vibration when I drive on the highway. So I hope this will help.
And just to be sure I'll also get the wheels dynamicly balaced. And then hopefully it will be better than ever

Do you have rain grooves in the road where you live. Out here they're everywhere. Cross pattern front tires don't follow them like the ribbed style. Check your tire pressure and keep it up. That will cause a wobble too.

No here in Denmark we don't have it at all.. Didn't even know that it was something that was done to keep the rain away..
We just have plain roads and then it usually tilts just a bit to the sides, so the rain goes to the sides and off the roads..
